The Unionfab Story
Unionfab's foundation was built inside UnionTech, a pioneer in industrial SLA 3D printing technology. For years, engineering, equipment development, material research, software systems, and production practice came together inside this ecosystem. That experience shaped the way Unionfab works today: close to the machines, close to the process, and close to the real problems engineers need to solve.
2002-2014: Deep Industrial Foundation
Unionfab's core team originated from the engineering department established by UnionTech in 2002. For more than a decade, the team worked closely with industrial 3D printing equipment, materials, software, and production processes.
During this period, we were not only users of additive manufacturing technology. We were also part of the process of refining machines, improving workflows, understanding material behavior, and solving real manufacturing challenges. This hands-on engineering foundation became the starting point for Unionfab's manufacturing philosophy.
2014: Independent Operation
In 2014, Unionfab began operating independently with a clear purpose: to transform UnionTech's advanced equipment development capabilities and full-stack manufacturing ecosystem into accessible production capacity for global customers.
This marked the beginning of Unionfab as a manufacturing service platform, built to help engineers, designers, startups, and manufacturers turn digital designs into high-quality physical parts faster and more reliably.
2014-Present: Full-Process Digital Manufacturing
Over the past decade, supported by UnionTech's integrated strengths in hardware, materials, and software, Unionfab has grown into a one-stop digital manufacturing platform for global customers.
While we continue to carry forward our strong SLA manufacturing foundation, we have expanded into metal 3D printing, polymer 3D printing, CNC machining, vacuum casting, rapid metal casting, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, finishing, inspection, and global delivery.
Today, Unionfab supports the full product development lifecycle, from rapid prototyping and low-volume trial production to industrial-grade batch manufacturing.

What We Do
Unionfab provides full-process custom manufacturing services for teams that need speed, flexibility, and reliable quality. Our role is not only to make parts, but also to help customers choose the right process, material, finish, and production path for each stage of product development.
One Platform from Prototype to Production
Product development rarely moves in a straight line. A team may need a visual model first, then a functional prototype, then a small test batch, then a pilot run, then a repeatable production workflow. Unionfab is built to support that entire journey.
We help customers with:
- Rapid prototyping for early design validation and fast iteration
- New product introduction and low-volume trial production
- Batch production for end-use parts and market launch
- Large-scale on-demand production supported by self-owned factories and certified manufacturing partners
By combining multiple manufacturing processes in one platform, Unionfab helps customers avoid switching suppliers as a project grows.
Full-Process Manufacturing Capabilities
Unionfab's manufacturing matrix covers both additive and traditional production methods, allowing us to match each part with the most suitable process based on geometry, tolerance, strength, surface requirements, quantity, and cost.
Our capabilities include:
- 3D Printing: SLM, SLA, SLS, MJF, FDM, PolyJet, and Binder Jetting (BJ)
- CNC Machining: CNC turning, milling, 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining, routing, grinding, drilling, EDM, and wire EDM
- Injection Molding: Rapid tooling, production tooling, overmolding, insert molding, SPI surface finishes, and VDI textures
- Vacuum Casting: Silicone molds, polyurethane casting, injection-molded surface quality, and fine detail reproduction
- Sheet Metal Fabrication: Laser cutting, punching, stamping, bending, welding, and finishing
- Rapid Metal Casting: Investment casting, die casting, sand casting, lost foam casting, and other casting methods
- Post-Processing: Sanding, polishing, painting, plating, anodizing, silk screening, heat treatment, bead blasting, powder coating, passivation, and other finishing options
This full-process capability allows Unionfab to support both design freedom and industrial precision.
Materials and Application Support
Unionfab works with a broad material ecosystem covering metal and non-metal engineering materials. Our material library includes high-performance resins, engineering nylons, high-temperature materials, specialty metals, and application-specific materials for demanding industries.
Backed by UnionTech's R&D foundation and material collaborations with companies such as Evonik and BASF, our team helps customers match materials to real use conditions, including impact resistance, corrosion resistance, toughness, heat resistance, biocompatibility, lightweighting, and functional performance.
For industries such as automotive, medical devices, consumer electronics, aerospace, robotics, and industrial equipment, material selection can be as important as the manufacturing process itself. Unionfab's material and process specialists help customers make those decisions earlier, with fewer trial-and-error cycles.
How We Work
Unionfab combines digital systems with human engineering judgment. Our platform is designed to make manufacturing more transparent, while our teams make sure complex projects still receive the technical attention they deserve.
Engineering-Led Support
Our sales consultants are not traditional sales representatives. They work as solution specialists with manufacturing and engineering experience. At the early stage of a project, they help customers review part requirements, compare process options, select materials, and identify possible manufacturability risks.
This engineering-led support helps customers receive practical feedback before production begins, reducing unnecessary cost, avoiding avoidable redesigns, and improving the chance that the final part performs as intended.
Project Management for Complex Orders
For complex, high-precision, or high-volume projects, Unionfab provides dedicated project management support. Our project managers coordinate design review, process planning, production scheduling, finishing, quality inspection, packaging, and global delivery.
This gives customers a clearer workflow and a single accountable team from quote to shipment, especially when one project involves multiple processes, strict tolerances, special materials, or staged delivery.
Materials, Process, and Quality Teams
Behind each order is a wider technical team. Material application experts help match new materials to customer requirements. Process engineers work on challenging geometries, large parts, tight tolerances, and non-standard production requirements. Production and quality teams manage every stage from incoming materials and machine operation to final inspection and secure packaging.
This structure allows Unionfab to support standard online orders as well as difficult engineering projects that require deeper manufacturing judgment.
Digital and AI-Driven Workflow
Unionfab uses digital tools and AI-supported workflows to reduce the friction of custom manufacturing. Customers can upload CAD files, receive fast online quotes, review manufacturability feedback, choose materials and finishes, and track order progress online.
Our digital systems support:
- 24/7 automated quoting
- DFM analysis and model review
- Smart production scheduling
- Order status tracking from review to production, finishing, inspection, and shipment
- Automated shipping cost calculation and global logistics support
- Faster internal engineering and operations workflows through AI tools
The goal is simple: make custom manufacturing less like a black box and more like a visible, data-driven process.
Our Culture
Unionfab's culture is built on engineering discipline, responsibility, and clear communication. We believe reliable manufacturing depends not only on advanced equipment and digital systems, but also on people who take ownership of every part, every deadline, and every customer commitment.
Professional Integrity
We focus on doing our own work well, taking responsibility before shifting blame, and improving the details that determine manufacturing quality.
For customers, this means fewer shortcuts, clearer communication, and parts that can stand up to real inspection and real use.
Commitment to Delivery
Certainty is the foundation of trust. We do not make promises lightly, but once we commit, we work hard to deliver.
When risks appear, we communicate early, explain the issue clearly, and act quickly to reduce the impact on the customer's project.
Ownership from Quote to Shipment
A customer should not have to chase different departments to solve one problem. Once a project is accepted, our teams coordinate across engineering, production, quality, logistics, and support to drive the result forward.
Fact-Based Communication
We make decisions based on facts, data, process knowledge, inspection results, and customer requirements.
This helps us work transparently across teams, cultures, industries, and time zones.
Customer-First, Long-Term Partnership
We believe long-term success comes from shared value. Our priority is to help customers succeed, support reliable supplier partnerships, and build a team that grows through better manufacturing outcomes.
Our goal is not to win one order, but to become a dependable manufacturing partner as our customers' products move from early ideas into real production.
